A FEW WORDS AS AN INTRODUCTION.

The websites www.tolk.cz have just been released (January 5^th 2009). They were made primarily for you, users, which means that you will influence and set their appearance and the way in which the number of presented data will increase qualitatively and quantitatively. The project is in beginnings therefore with your help I will check the functionality of the system during its test run for which I truly thank you and ask for tolerance in handling errors and problems.

ABOUT PROJECT

The project is aimed at presentation and familiarization with the culture and the Arts of the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and the former USSR. The principal idea is to create a portal followed by an electronic archive, in which works covering the whole artistic and cultural spectrum will be presented. The sites are intended to create author galleries of artists, collectors, galleries etc. in various artistic areas, which means that you register, place your work to your mini gallery and after the administrators΄ approval they will be accessible to all users. The content of galleries will be fully in your hands on condition that it agrees with the rules of tolk.cz. The sites΄ visitors can evaluate given works and in case of their interest they can get in contact with authors or owners of presented works.

All authors have the right to make public all the contacts they wish to provide such as their phone number, www page, mail etc. in their galleries.

The sites are in bilingual Czech and Russian versions. Profiles and object names are translated free of charge by the site editors. All other data are presented in relevant language version which automatically recognise the user. The amount of data in both languages also influence the number of coworkers and registered users who will participate in the project. Literary works, musical works and film works will be mostly represented in original language version without translations.

Other presentations are created directly by the administration and the site editors. These are works whose copyrights are in possession of the third person who does not present himself or herself, but the administration gained an agreement with their release in accordance with copyrights (e.g. deceased authors) and in the range of this project. The literary archive creation is fully in hands of the editors and its main aim is to make accessible works without copyrights (Czech and Russian literary works including translations of foreign writers into previously mentioned languages).

The editors are open and positively disposed to any form of cooperation and presentation related to the sites΄ content. We also welcome possible new coworkers and translators and we look forward to your suggestions.

The project is non-commercial and is fully financed from its own sources. However, we think about a partial placement of paid advertisements whose takings will serve to cover the costs related to the sites΄ upkeep and also to cover royalties related to copyrights. On our sites we neither negotiate any business deals nor help to ensure business activities related to presented works.
